Private does not mean harmful

Community Guidelines

Circles are small, private spaces. Everyone still deserves safety, consent, and respect.

Effective 5 August 2026

Our standard

These Guidelines apply to journal content when it is shared, Circle activity, reactions, invitations, profiles, and messages sent to support. Context matters, including documentary, educational, artistic, or newsworthy context, but privacy does not excuse harm or illegality.

What to report

Harassment or hate

Do not bully, repeatedly target, degrade, or encourage abuse of a person. Do not attack or dehumanize people based on protected characteristics, or praise hateful organizations.

Sexual content

Never share sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual content involving minors, sexual threats, or content intended to coerce or humiliate. Other adult intimate content must be lawful, consensual, and appropriate for everyone who can see it.

Violence or threats

Do not make credible threats, celebrate serious harm, coordinate violence, or share graphic content to shock, intimidate, or glorify harm. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Illegal content

Do not use Moments to facilitate crime or share illegal goods, exploitation, abuse material, or other unlawful content.

Spam

Do not send repetitive, deceptive, unsolicited, or automated content or invitations, or manipulate engagement and access.

Privacy or intellectual property

Do not expose personal or confidential information without permission, impersonate others, misuse invitation links, or share content you do not have the right to use. Respect copyright, trademark, image rights, and consent.

Other

Use Other for a serious safety or policy concern that does not fit above. Explain the issue clearly so the operator can assess it.

Tools available to Circle members

A Circle member can report content or conduct for operator review. Depending on their role and what they shared, members can also remove a member, unshare a reported Moment, or leave the Circle. Use immediate Circle controls when they help you feel safe; reporting does not automatically unshare content or remove a person.

How moderation works

The operator may review the report, reported content, nearby reactions or activity, relevant Circle context, and prior enforcement. Outcomes may include no action, a warning, content restriction or removal, feature limits, account suspension, or referral where legally required or needed for a credible safety threat. We limit outcome details to protect everyone’s privacy.

Moderation can involve judgment and mistakes. A person whose content or account is restricted can appeal at hello.themomentsapp@gmail.com. We may restore content or an account after review. Evidence related to a report is retained for 90 days after the case is resolved, then deleted or de-identified except where law, an active dispute, or a credible safety need requires longer retention.

Reporting responsibly

Submit reports in good faith. Do not weaponize reporting, fabricate evidence, or repeatedly report content simply because of a personal disagreement. For help or a concern that cannot be reported in the app, contact hello.themomentsapp@gmail.com.
